A man deals with the loss of his wife on 9/11. This short story is in my collection STORIES FROM SUNSET HILL.
The author writes with a creative and lively style. The gritty, raw voice of the character Chuck in the first story (nineleven) pulled me in right away, and I couldn't stop reading.

nineleven edition by Donald Capone Literature Fiction eBooks
Having read another story by Capone (The Chambliss Tapes) I initially though this would be another story of changing the past, but it was much more low-key than that. I struggle with my reaction to this story. While I enjoy the way the author writes and the respectful way in which he handled wrapping this national tragedy into a work of fiction, I also felt as if too much of the story was driven by the author slowly handing out information in a way that didn't feel quite natural. As he's hurrying back to New York, it's like a story element is being promised that is never delivered.Product details

nineleven edition by Donald Capone Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
i liked it but it was to short but great for people who want to know a little bit about 9/11.
nineleven is a short written by a husband trying to deal with the loss of his wife in the tragic events of Sept. 11, 2001.
I don't want to tell too much of the story because it is so brief and compelling. If you have forgotten, even in small measure, the fear of that day or the swelling of American pride, this short story will remind you. It brings back my feelings of that day so acutely, even in middle-America, the emptiness, hopelessness, shock, and grief of that day and even the days following. I will never forget.
I don't know why would even offer this in the books to read. A man talks about his wife being inthe towers on 9/11 but none of it makes sense. It was a waste of my time reading it.
nineeleven by Donald Capone
his wife was in one of the towers, heading down from 80th floor. he rented a car and drove from FL to NY listening to news on the way. he had dreams, so he saw what happened in this case and other events in his life and the outcome.
An excellent story by Capone. Also check out his collection, "Stories from Sunset Hill" which is full of great short fiction
